Single Ply Roofing

Built-Up Roofs (BUR) have one of the longest histories in the construction trades.  In fact, they date back to the Egyptians.  The asphalt systems are most often used for commercial and industrial building.  Its advantages include durability and competitive life-cycles costs.  The normal industrial BUR roof system begins with the roof decking which is covered by insulation panels, after which multiple plies of felt are mopped with hot asphalt mixtures and topped off with gravel or coating.

R. Townley Roofing’s BUR department has been installing high quality roofs for a variety of public and private clients for over 25 years.  Our BUR superintendents, foremen and crews understand the importance of safe work practices and risk management protocol, especially during the application of hot mopped asphalt systems and torch laid systems.
